Although Dorte and Jan’s first hotel was the result of a spontaneous dream of becoming hotel owners and self-employed, the purchase of the hotel in Vejle was far from a spontaneous decision. With hotels in Middelfart, Kolding and now Vejle, they now cover a larger part of the Triangle Region, which gives companies and organizations the opportunity for a broader geographical coverage for their events. Companies that have activities in both West and East Jutland can now benefit from Milling Hotels’ combined capacity and consistent service. But even though it is a strategic decision, it is still important for the family that the heart is in the right place. “We are a Danish hotel chain owned by a family – my wife and our three children. That family spirit must never be lost. At all our hotels there must be a feeling of a special family environment, where our presence and cozy surroundings are given high priority. Even now that we are taking over one of the largest hotels in our portfolio,” says Jan Milling. And the family spirit is certainly present. Because in addition to the children’s presence in the management group and in various work tasks, Dorte’s brother also plays an active role in the hotel chain. Peter Milling, who is already area director for the conference hotels, will be responsible for Vejle Center Hotel, which will be given its new name ‘Milling Hotel Vejle’ from February 2, 2025.
